As part of its African Awareness Month activities, St. Jude???s Primary School will play host to a parade of stilt walkers tomorrow, Tuesday, February 9, at the school in St. George.

The event starts at 10:00 a.m., and students will be treated to performances by the Barracks Hill stilt walkers, who, dressed in Bajan butterfly costumes, will pay tribute to Barbados??? 50th Anniversary of Independence.

Students and teachers will hear about the history of music when Len Sehntwali undertakes a musical presentation on African Links and Cultural Retention in Modern Music.

This will place emphasis on the clave, a bar of notes that has its origins in Africa and is found in all genres of music.??Mr. Sehntwali, accompanied by his daughter Eja, a young stilt walker, will also dramatise some Anansi stories.
