The Data Processing Department (DPD) is expected to chart its direction for the next five years as Government’s Central Information Technology Department, with a two-day strategic planning workshop for all its staff.

The seminar, which commences tomorrow, Tuesday, September 2, will take place at the National Housing Corporation’s Conference Room, Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael, starting at 8:15 a.m.

The focus of tomorrow’s agenda is “Developing the Way Forward”. It will include a SWOT Analysis of the DPD; a review of the department’s mission and vision and developing the mission, vision and values for the entity; and identifying the “do-wells” for 2009 to 2012.

There will also be an opening ceremony tomorrow, at which Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Senator Maxine McClean, will deliver the feature address.

On Wednesday, September 3, “Setting Priorities” will be the theme. Areas of discussion will include Developing a Strategic Linkage Model; Initiatives for 2008/09; How to Prioritise initiatives; and Immediate Next Steps.
