The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training (METVT) is currently presenting the winners of the National Student Council Logo and Slogan Competitions with their prizes.
The presentations, which started on Monday, March 29, will run until Friday, April 1, at schools across the island.
In 2021, students were invited to design a logo and slogan for the National Student Council under the theme “Education for Sustainable Development”.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 30, will see the Ministry presenting Macario Maynard of Combermere School with his prize for placing first in the logo competition.
This will take the form of a brief ceremony at the school, located at Waterford, St. Michael from 10:00 a.m.
The following day, Thursday, March 31, the prize for the winning slogan will be presented to Akario Belgrave Thomas at his school, Princess Margaret Secondary, Six Roads, St. Philip, at 10:00 a.m. Meanwhile, the school will receive a special award from the Ministry and UNICEF for submitting the most entries for each competition.
Presentations will be made to the students by Education Officer with the METVT and Focal Point of the National Students Council, Yvette Estwick.
Prizes awarded to students in both competitions were sponsored by UNICEF while special prizes to junior students were provided by No. 1 Beauty Supply and Clinton Chandler.
