Students from the fifth and sixth forms as well as tertiary level institutions who have been invited to the discussion EduNation Barbados- Let’s Talk Education this Friday, October 19, are being reminded that they must be present for the event at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed, The City.

Although there will be no school as a result of October 19, being Teachers’?? Professional Day, the targeted students are reminded by the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development that they must come and must wear the uniform of their respective school/institution.

The forum, which is also open to the public, represents part of the activities to mark 50 years of universal, free public education on the island.?? The sessions will run from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

A key aspect on the schedule will be ???Youth Perspectives‘ from 10:00 a.m. to noon, which will be moderated by Dr. Ivan Henry, a sociologist. This discussion will also be streamed live, and carried during the mid-Morning Mix Programme on CBC TV Channel 8.

From 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., the session will be open to the general public for a discussion on Education Perspectives.

Fifty years of universal, free education in Barbados (1962-2012) is being celebrated under the theme: Celebrating 50 – Free Education for All.
