As part of its outreach programme during Education Month, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade will conduct an interactive presentation on issues debated at the 69th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), in the Liberal Arts Auditorium of the Barbados Community College (BCC), on Tuesday, October 7, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
Senior Foreign Service Officer of the Multilateral Relations Division, Mohammed Degia, who will make the presentation, explained that it would provide a general overview of Barbados??? foreign policy and highlight how what happens domestically in Barbados is linked to the interdependent world we live in.?????It is also hoped that the presentation will trigger in students ideas about career options,??? he said.
He added that the Ministry has extended invitations to participate in the forum to students at the BCC studying History, Sociology, Government and Politics, Geography, Law and Languages.
Several secondary schools were also invited, including Harrison College, The St. Michael School, Queen???s College, The Lodge School, Combermere School, Graydon Sealy Secondary, Springer Memorial, Christ Church Foundation, and The Alleyne School.
Following the presentation, students will engage in a question-and-answer session and receive educational giveaways donated by Promotech, the Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited, MGrafix, Digicel and CLAJ Incorporated.??The West India Biscuit Co. Ltd (WIBSICO) and The Pine Hill Diary have also partnered with the Ministry to host the session.
