As part of events to mark World Food Day on October 16, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management, will be honouring persons with Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) awards.

Awardees will be those who have made a significant contribution to the development of the agricultural sector or an industry in Barbados over the years.

Individuals or organisations are asked to submit the names of not more than two persons, the organisation, specific area of recognition recommended and personal history, which should justify the recommendation. Nominees will be considered under such categories as: innovation/pioneering in techniques and systems of production; research and/ or extension; sustained success in agriculture; and long and meritorious service.

Nominations should be submitted to the Deputy Chief Agricultural Officer, or Chairman of the World Food Day Committee, Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management, Graeme Hall, Christ Church.
