The Media Resource Department (MRD) will be hosting three workshops this summer for teachers and students.??
Two of the workshops target teachers. They are: The Teaching of Comprehension and the Production of Wooden Manipulatives.
The Teaching of Comprehension will be held in the MRD???s Auditorium at the Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael, from July 6 to July 10.
The aim is to assist teachers with strategies which they can implement to improve comprehension skills in the classroom.
The Production of Wooden Manipulatives workshop will be held in the Industrial Arts Department of the St. Leonard’s Boys Secondary School, St. Michael, from July 6 to July 10, and again from July 13 to July 17.
It will help teachers to develop manipulatives to complement classroom practices.??Both courses will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1: 00 p.m. daily.??The final workshop targets students and will expose them to the effective use of various technology.
This Junior Multimedia Workshop will be held in the MRD???s Training Room, from July 6 to 31, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily.??For further information and registration, teachers and students should call the MRD at 430-2895, or visit the website www.mrd.gov.bb.
