Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) recovering from the massive earthquake which shook Haiti in January, are receiving much needed supplies.

This was underscored today following a presentation of two barrels of various items by the School Meals Department at its Lancaster Centre, to Special Envoy for PWDs, Roslyn Hurley.

In expressing the staff’s commitment to lending assistance, Manager of the School Meals Department, Marcelia Nelson, expressed concern for the more vulnerable persons in Haiti, who may be neglected after such a disaster.

"We have collected a number of items, and we hope that these will help Persons with Disabilities in Haiti who are in desperate need," she stated.

In turn, Ms. Hurley, who initially started this effort last year, thanked the department for recognising persons in Haiti with disabilities and for their support in such a worthwhile endeavour.??sharifa.medford@barbados.gov.bb
