(Barbados Revenue Authority)

Members of the public will get an opportunity to learn how to file their income tax return in the new Tax Administration Management Information System (TAMIS) during a series of tax filing demonstrations in April.

The Barbados Revenue Authority will be hosting the demonstrations on Wednesday, April 3, at the Deighton Griffith School, Kingsland, Christ Church; Thursday, April 4, at Alexandra School, Queen’s Street, St. Peter; and Monday, April 8, at Queen’s College, Husbands, St. James.

The sessions will continue on Tuesday, April 9, at Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Roads, St. Philip; and Wednesday, April 10, at Lester Vaughan School, Cane Garden, St. Thomas.  All sessions will begin at 6:30 p.m.

During the recent Financial Statement and Budgetary Proposals, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley disclosed that online filing of personal income tax for 2018 will be done in TAMIS from Monday, April 8, a week later than normal.

TAMIS is a revenue management system designed to more comprehensively administer the online tax portfolio in Barbados. It is expected to offer users a simpler way of filing, and improved customer experience and communication, that is, real-time information being available on the website.
