As part of the Diploma in Education Programme offered by the Erdiston Teachers’ Training College, primary and secondary teachers are currently undergoing training in the use of technology, at the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road.

The Educational Media workshop, which runs from July 25 to August 12, is being conducted by the Media Resource Department (MRD). According to the department, "the aim of this workshop is to provide teachers with technological skills which will assist them with integrating technology into their lessons".

Participants include 124 primary school teachers and 70 from the secondary level who are being trained in technological areas such as the Smartboard Digital Camera, Video and Video Editing as well as the use of the Overhead Projector and Scriptwriting.

The training is done on an annual basis and conducted by the Audio Visual Aids Officers of the MRD.

The Department which falls under the aegis of the Ministry of Education also provides training in Educational Media to participants in the Erdiston Teachers’ Training College’s Easter and Summer Induction courses.
