Twenty-four teachers will graduate from Wheelock College, Boston, Massachusetts, tomorrow, Saturday, July 2, in a ceremony to be held at Savannah Beach Hotel, Hastings, Christ Church, at 5:00 p.m.

The teachers would have met the requirements for the Post-Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education, and were selected from across the primary and nursery school system through a competitive application process within the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.

The programme was completed over the last year with professors from Wheelock College providing instruction in Barbados. It culminated recently with an experiential learning tour of specialist institutions in Boston from June 6 to 16. The feature address will be delivered by Dr. Linda Banks-Santilli, Dean of Graduate and Professional Programmes at Wheelock College.

A collaborative effort on the part of Wheelock College, Erdiston Teachers’ Training College and the Barbados Community College, the training was coordinated by the Higher Education Development Unit a department of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation. It was funded predominantly by The Maria Holder Memorial Trust.
