The Telecommunications Unit is reminding holders of telecommunications licences that they will expire on December 31, 2009, and should be renewed by January 30, 2010.

According to an official of the Unit, the licences may also be renewed between January 31, and March 31, 2010, but will incur a 25 per cent late payment fee. The official also stressed that from April 1, 2010, unpaid licences may be revoked by the Minister responsible for Telecommunications.

The relevant licences are: sellers and dealers; citizens’ band operators; amateur radio operators; model equipment owners; general radio communications; fishing vessels and all other ship stations; coast stations; and aircraft stations.
