It was a special occasion today, as The Ann Hill and Irving Wilson Schools received an official visit from Her Royal Highness, The Countess of Wessex, at their location in Pine Plantation Road, St. Michael.

Her Royal Highness met first with Principal of the Ann Hill School, Emelda Bell, before visiting the jewellery and basketry classes and watching as one class learnt the value of money in their Mathematics lesson.

Afterwards, the school choir serenaded Princess Sophie with a stirring rendition of ???Heal The World??? by Michael Jackson. The musical interlude featured past student Corey Hunte on keyboards.

The Countess, whose party included British High Commissioner, Victoria Dean and officials from the British High Commission, described the occasion as ???heart-warming and a real pleasure???.

Afterwards, the Countess of Wessex visited the Irving Wilson School, also located nearby, where she interacted with its Principal, Wendy Blackman and students. Later, while in the school???s hall, she watched as students signed their way through a presentation of ???Emmerton???, a song penned by the Mighty Gabby, before saying ???Goodbye??? and ???continue to work hard???.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex will be in Barbados until Sunday, March 2. They are here on private business in connection with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
