As the effective management of national projects comes under the microscope, Government is continuing to look at ways of ensuring maximum benefit for taxpayers.

To this end, Government’s Training Administration Division (TAD) has embarked on further training for public officers who are involved in their management, administration and implementation.

Some 30 public officers are presently participating in a five-day Advanced Public -Private Partnerships (PPP) workshop, at Grand Barbados Beach Resort, Aquatic Gap, St. Michael.

The training also involves the Institute for Private Partnerships Inc. and focuses on “Project Finance and Financial Modelling Techniques”.

Public-private partnership mechanisms have become a clear choice for many governments worldwide as a means to improve service delivery, attract investment, develop needed infrastructure, reduce costs and increase accountability.

Some 60 officers have been trained in private-public partnerships since 2006.
