Barbadians are being urged to get tested and know their status by taking advantage of free HIV testing which is being carried out at eight locations on Regional Testing Day, tomorrow, Friday, June 28.

An official opening ceremony will take place in Parliament Court Yard, The City, tomorrow at noon. Minister of Health, John Boyce, will deliver remarks during the proceedings and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Joy St. John, will speak on Why Testing Matters, as well as reveal the Ministry’s plans for 2013.

The testing sites are as follows: Parliament Court Yard and the following Bank of Nova Scotia locations – Rockley, Christ Church; Wildey, St. Michael; Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael; Broad Street, The City; Warrens, St. Michael; Holetown, St. James; and Carlton, Black Rock, St. Michael.

All testing, with the exception of the Broad Street branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia, will run from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The testing at Broad Street will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

HIV testing will continue on Saturday, June 29, at Emerald City Supermarket, Six Roads, St. Philip and Jubilee Gardens, The City, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Also on Sunday, June 30, testing will be carried out at St. Aidan Anglican Church, Bathsheba, St. Joseph, between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.; Truth for the Final Generation Adventist Church from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m.; and the Jackson Church of God, Jackson, St.?? Michael, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.
