Those who may have missed the two tourism town hall meetings held this year will have an opportunity to share their views on the future of the industry in January.

The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael. Members of the disabled community are specially invited to attend and sign language interpretation will be provided for the hearing impaired.?? On Wednesday, January 19, the series continues at the Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Roads, St. Philip while the third meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 2, at the St. James Secondary School, Holetown, St. James.?? All meetings will begin at 7:00 p.m.

The meetings, which are being hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, will focus on the development of a White Paper, a crucial step in the creation of a Tourism Master Plan for Barbados.??

The Discussion Paper, which analyses the present state of tourism on the island and was prepared to help frame the dialogue for the development of the Tourism White Paper, is available online at the Ministry’s website, http://www.tourism.gov.bb/.?? Copies are also available at national post offices and libraries, Super Centre JBs, Sargeant’s Village; Super Centre, Warrens; Emerald City Supermarket, Six Roads and Carlton and A1 Supermarket, Black Rock.
