This year’s tourism week activities will begin with reflection on our past and a discussion on the industry’s future.

The celebration of the industry will start on Sunday, December 9, at 3:00 p.m., with the exploration of Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison. Historians Morris Greenidge, Trevor Marshall and Kevin Farmer will guide participants through the streets, while sharing stories about Barbados’ past.?? Persons should contact the Ministry of Tourism at 430-7500 to register.

The following evening, Monday, December 10, at 7:00 p.m., Dr. Elaine Rocha will deliver a public lecture on Non-Accidental Tourists -The Importance of the African Diaspora to Stimulate Modern Tourism, at the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination, Cave Hill, St. Michael.

Tourism Week 2012, which features the theme Achieving Success Through Service Excellence, ends on December 15.
