Tourism workers are invited to gain first-hand information about the COVID-19 protocols that regulate activities within their industry.

Starting tomorrow Tuesday, October 6, at the Wildey Gymnasium, Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. will host a series of sensitisation workshops designed to help tourism stakeholders become acquainted with the new travel and entry protocols as well as safety requirements.

The first session targeted at transportation operators will be held on Tuesday, from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.

The following day, Wednesday, October 7, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, the workshop will cater to receptionists, front of house staff, employees in guest services, customer experience, conference facilities and attractions, in addition to bar and restaurant operators.

The afternoon session on Wednesday, which runs from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m., is for persons who work in housekeeping and maintenance, gardeners, pool attendants, laundry attendants, public facility cleaners, spa staff and all ancillary staff. 

Persons who work in these areas but are unable to attend on Wednesday, will get the opportunity to attend on Thursday, October 8, from 9:30 a.m. to noon when that workshop will be repeated.

The final session on Thursday will run from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. for water sports operators, jet ski operators, lifeguards, dive shop operators, leisure craft operators and beach vendors.
