The public will have two more opportunities this year to come out and add their voices to the proposal to establish community-based People’s Assemblies, starting tomorrow, Wednesday, November 27.
The assemblies are people-participatory structures of governance based on the principle of patriotic, selfless, non-partisan service to country. The aim is to provide residents with a platform to have a greater say in national affairs.
Tomorrow’s meeting takes place at Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Cross Roads, St. Philip and the final one will be at West Terrace Primary School, West Terrace, St. James, on Wednesday, December 4.
The meetings, which are being hosted by the Thorne Commission on Local Governance chaired by MP and attorney-at-law, Ralph Thorne, will run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
