Government’s Town and Country Planning Office has explained that the recent power outage experienced across the island, caused by the passage of Tropical Storm Tomas, had damaged its computer servers.??

The Chief Town Planner, Mark Cummins, said his office and its Information Technology Consultants, were "working assiduously to ensure that the necessary repairs are effected in a timely manner".

He said: "While this work is being undertaken, our Development Planning Management System, which is central to the processing of applications, is not operational.?? Regrettably, the Town and Country Development Planning Office has had to resort to manual processes, and this may occasion delays."

Mr. Cummins has apologised for any inconvenience the public might have as a result of this problem.
