A number of traffic arrangements will be in effect on Friday, November 30, from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the Independence Ceremonial Parade, which will take place Kensington Oval, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

On that day, Fontabelle Road from its junction with Lakes Folly and Redman Drive to its junction at President Kennedy Drive and Spring Garden Highway (Holborn Circle) will be one-way going in the direction of the Spring Garden Highway.

President Kennedy Drive from its junction with Westbury Road to its junction with Holborn Circle will also be closed to vehicular traffic, except public service vehicles.

No person will be allowed to park or remain stationary on any of the following roads or the adjoining footpaths except for the purpose of picking up or setting down passengers: Fontabelle Road, Westbury Road, President Kennedy Drive, Cheapside Road, Redman Drive, Prescod Boulevard, the roadway leading to Hanschell Inniss, Pickwick Gap, University Row, Spring Garden Highway, and Kensington New Road.

Parking will not be allowed along the emergency route or alternate emergency route except for the purpose of picking up or setting down passengers.

All drivers and riders of vehicles, pedestrians and riders or leaders of animals using any of the roads mentioned above should exercise caution and comply with the rules and any order given by a member of the Royal Barbados Police Force in uniform.

Anyone who contravenes these rules or fails to comply with any order given will be guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $500.00, or to imprisonment for a term of three months.
