No roads will be closed for the duration of the royal visit.

This was announced today by Assistant Commissioner of Police Emmerson Moore, during a press briefing at Government Headquarters to give further details on the State visit by the Earl and Countess of Wessex slated for Thursday, February 23 to Friday, February 24.

Mr. Moore added that police officers would be posted at strategic points to assist with traffic flows and to enforce traffic restrictions where necessary.

The Joint Sitting of Parliament will take place on Thursday, February 23 at 10:00 a.m., and, as a result, members of the general public will not be allowed to park on Trafalgar Street, High Street, Palmetto Square, and Street, Rickett Street, Marhill Street and the Heroes Square Taxi Stand.

On Friday, February 24, the Earl will unveil a commemorative plaque at Kensington Oval at 11:40 a.m. Consequently, members of the general public will not be allowed to park on President Kennedy Drive and Fontabelle Road.

Later that day, at 2:15 p.m., the Earl and Countess will pay a visit to the Nidhe Israel Synagogue and Museum and the Mikvah. Consequently, no parking will be allowed on Magazine Lane, Synagogue Lane, James Street and Coleridge Street.

Uniformed police officers will be on patrol in these areas to enforce these regulations.

Members of the public are asked to comply with the instructions of uniformed police officers.
