A number of traffic regulations will be in place this coming Sunday, November 23, to facilitate the National Independence Service being held in Independence Square. They will take effect from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. that day.

From 2:30 p.m. all vehicular traffic traveling towards the City along Highway 7, including public service vehicles, must turn right at Jemmotts Lane. Only vehicles bearing BTI car park stickers will be allowed access beyond Jemmotts Lane. Those vehicles with BTI car park stickers, approaching from St. Michael’s Row or Broad Street will be permitted to turn right onto Lower Bay Street to park.

No parking will be allowed on Lower Bay Street between Probyn Street and Fairchild Street; or on Lower Fairchild Street between Bay Street and Probyn Street.

Meanwhile, the taxis that are normally stationed in the lay-by next to Independence Square will be relocated to Probyn Street that afternoon.

Uniformed police officers will be on hand to direct all traffic and drivers are asked to comply with their instructions.
