Over 30 retrenched workers from the Barbados Transport Board are currently undergoing training in the area of entrepreneurship, facilitated by the Trust Loan Unit.

The training, which started on Monday, June 24, and will run until Thursday, June 27, is being conducted at the Unit located at Building #4, Harbour Road, St. Michael. It runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon, daily.

The former workers of the board have been included in the new Transport Augmentation Programme (TAP), where they have been given the opportunity to provide transportation services to supplement the public service system.

The entrepreneurial training comprises four modules:  Introduction to Management, Financial Literacy, Marketing, and Customer Service.

According to the Trust Loan Unit, in addition to the training, and pending the further build-out of the TAP project, the unit will also provide minimal funding to these individuals, as well as valuable business development consultation and further training.
