A call is going out to prospective business owners and software developers to upgrade their skills by participating in pitchIT Caribbean, the Caribbean Mobile Innovation Project.

The project, which is facilitated through the Barbados Coalition of Service Industries (BCSI), funded by the Canadian Government and executed by InfoDev/World Bank, spans 14 CARICOM countries.

During the 12 weeks (part-time) of training in Mobile App Technologies & Business Modeling, participants can expect to develop a minimum viable product; get world class preparation to win-over leading investors and mentors, as well as pitch for a coveted place in one of six Caribbean Accelerator programmes.

PitchIT Caribbean is part of the Entrepreneurship Programme for Innovation in the Caribbean and is an initiative led by the University of the West Indies Consortium led by UWI Consulting Inc. and also comprising the Mona School of Business and Management and the Mona Business Support Services.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, February 3. For more information, persons can visit www.pitchitcaribbean.com, or contact the BCSI Secretariat at 429-5357.
