Transport service operators are being encouraged to participate in an upcoming training session next month, which will assist them in becoming more competitive within the tourism market.

The eight-module Passenger Transport Service Operator Training programme, which will begin on Sunday, June 10, is coordinated by the Ministry of Tourism and facilitated by the Barbados Community College (BCC).??

Training will be open to both independent operators and companies, and will be held on Mondays and Thursdays, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sundays from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

A range of themes will be addressed during the sessions, including: History and Geography of Barbados (inclusive of knowledge and culture of Barbados as a tourist destination, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, NULL, NULL, 0); Quality Customer Service (inclusive of passengers with disabilities, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, NULL, NULL, 0); Effective Communication (inclusive of current affairs, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, NULL, NULL, 0); Foreign Language Skills (basic courtesies in a minimum of three foreign languages, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, NULL, NULL, 0); and Business Management.

Those who complete this pilot programme will receive certification at the end of the three-month course.
