A special invitation is going out to persons with disabilities to attend this year’s national Independence service, which is being held under the theme Strengthening Our Nation Through Family.

However, in the event that such individuals are having challenges with transportation, they are asked to contact the Ministry of Family, Culture, Sports and Youth, the coordinating ministry, at telephone number at 621-2700, as soon as possible.

The interdenominational service will commence at 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 25, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael.

It will be preceded by musical selections from various community choirs at 3:00 p.m.

Tickets for this year’s national Independence Service may be obtained from the Ministry of Family, Culture, Sports and Youth, Mall Internationale, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael, or the General Post Office, Cheapside, Bridgetown.

A collection will be taken during the service and the proceeds will be given to members of the disabled community.

Security checks will be in place and members of the public are asked to be seated by 3:30 p.m.
