Ways to improve the bilateral relations?? between Turkey and Mexico were among the areas discussed when Turkish Ambassador, Mushin Tug᷃rul Kili??aslan, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Freundel Stuart yesterday.

During the meeting at Ilaro Court, the two parties discussed a range of issues of mutual benefit, with the view to enhancing the economic and social development of the countries.

Ambassador Kili??aslan, impressed with the island’s tourism product, exchanged information about his country’s tourism product as well as the development of the capital Istanbul, as a main business hub.

In turn, Prime Minister Stuart acknowledged that although diplomatic ties had been established since 1972, not much had been done to deepen that relationship.?? He mentioned tourism as one area in which the two countries could benefit from mutual collaboration.

"We [government] do not underestimate Turkey’s influence in world affairs and Barbados stands ready to develop a strong and rich relationship in this regard.
