When the Ministry of Health’s programme to rid the island of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito continues next week, there will be two days of fogging in both Christ Church and St. James.

The team from the Vector Control Unit will begin on Monday, December 7, in Christ Church, fogging Atlantic Shores, Enterprise Coast Road, Bournes’ Land, Enterprise Gardens, Rollins Road, Goodland Gardens and their environs.

The following day, Tuesday, December 8, areas that abut and bound Christ Church will be visited, including Woodbourne, Woodbourne Tenantry, St. Patrick’s, Bright Hill, Waldron Village, Lowthers, Fair View, Lead Vale, Lowland Park and their surroundings.

On Wednesday, December 9, the fogging team will journey to St. George and target Airy Hill, Flat Rock, Mayfield, Rowans Road, Rowans Park, Glebe Land, and all ????

avenues, Walkers Terrace East, Taitt Hill, Thorpes Cottage, Wood Alley and their environs.

Fogging in St. James will start on Thursday, December 10.?? Areas to be visited are?? Paynes Bay, Chapel Gap #1 & 2, Clarkes Gap, Clarkes Gap #1 & 2, Derricks, Appleby Gardens, Vaughan Road, Lashleys’ Road, Berbice, Risk Road, Piggott Road, Jordan’s Road, Johnson Road and surroundings.

Fogging culminates on Friday, December 11, with a return to St. James. The areas to be fogged are Prospect, Crusher Site, Fitts Village, Johnson Gap, Jordan’s Road, Berbice #1 & 2, Piggott Gap, Lashley Gap, Risk Road and their environs.

All fogging runs from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and householders are asked to assist by opening windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate.

Persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog while pedestrians and motorists must proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street.

Parents are instructed to prohibit children from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health’s fogging programme will be temporarily halted for the usual Christmas break from December 14. Fogging will re-commence on January 4, 2010.??

Fogging operations will, however, be undertaken by the Vector Control Unit in case of an emergency.
