Next week, when the Ministry of Health continues its programme to rid the island of the aedes aegypti mosquito, it will be targeting five parishes.

Fogging starts on Monday, October 12 in St. John with visits to Golden Ridge, Ashbury, Lemon Arbor, Venture, Four Roads, Knights Village, Pool Land, Cherry Grove, Spooners, Henley Land and its environs.

The following day, Tuesday October 13, the team form the Vector Control Unit will fog areas that abut and bound St. George and St. John. These are: Sweet Vale, Redlands Tenantry, Butcher Road, Brathwaite Road, Bayley Alley, Ashbury Tenantry, Golden Ridge, Lemon Arbor, Knights Road, Four Roads, Henley Tenantry, Cherry Grove, Pool Land #1 and #2 and their surroundings.

On Wednesday, October 14, the team will move to St. Peter where Speightstown, Station Hill, Round the Town, Farm Road, Millers Road, Niles Road, Burma Road, Batteleys, Church Street Gardens and their environs will be sprayed.

The St. James districts of Holetown, James Town, Sunset Crest, Molyneaux, Seaview will be fogged on Thursday, October 15.

Fogging culminates on Friday, October 16, in St. Michael. The districts to be visited are: Grazettes Housing Area, Grazettes Landing Scheme, Long Gap, Piedmont Park, Spooners Hill, Thompson Gap, White Hall Main Road, Bridge Gap, St. Stephens Hill, Cave Hill Housing Area, Philip Land, Grazettes New Road and its environs.

All fogging runs from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. daily and householders are asked to assist by opening their windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate.

Persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog, while pedestrians and motorists must proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street.

Parents are instructed to prohibit their children from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine.
