In observance of Regional Testing Day, 2010, the Ministry of Health will be conducting HIV testing and counselling in collaboration with Scotiabank and the Caribbean Broadcast Media Partnership on HIV/AIDS at all Scotiabank locations across Barbados this Friday, June 25.

Testing will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the branches which are located at Broad Street, Haggatt Hall, Hastings, Warrens, Holetown, Black Rock and at the Barbados Industrial Development Corporation Harbour Road and in Independence Square.

Counsellors from the Ministry will provide, in addition to counselling and testing, educational materials and condoms to patrons, who will also be entertained with dramatic pieces that will address issues related to HIV/AIDS.

The following day, Saturday, June 26, the HIV testing will continue at Emerald City Supermarket, Six Roads, St. Philip and Heroes Square in the City. This will occur from 10.00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

An added feature of HIV testing on the two days will be the involvement of the mobile unit which will visit some night spots encouraging patrons to ???Get Tested’ for HIV.

Members of the public are encouraged to visit the locations and ascertain their HIV status during this exercise for Regional Testing Day, 2010. jgill@barbados.gov.bb
