Government’s efforts to improve the island’s drainage will take the spotlight next   Monday, February 2.

That’s when Minister of the Environment, Water Resources and Drainage, Dr. Denis Lowe, is expected to officially launch two major drainage projects, as well as outline his Ministry’s vision for the reconstituted Drainage Division which was previously called the Drainage Unit under the aegis of the Ministry of Transport and Works.

The launch will take place at 10:00 a.m. at Brathwaite’s Road, Bank Hall, St. Michael, which is the road located between Skeete’s Road and Downey Road and obliquely opposite Sawh’s shop.

Members of the public will hear of plans for drainage improvement in nearby Headley’s Land, as well as at Vauxhall, St. James, near Almond Beach. The Headley’s Land Project will be executed in tandem with the existing Bank Hall Drainage Programme.
