Residents in urban areas will be rewarded for their efforts at beautifying their surroundings, when once again the Urban Development Commission (UDC) hosts its Garden Beautification Competition.

Undertaken in partnership with the National Conservation Commission (NCC) and the National Botanical Gardens, the competition is open to persons who received house repairs from UDC or reside in UDC houses. Participants are encouraged to be as creative as possible and to include recyclable materials within their presentations.

The Grand Prize of the Competition is a Garden Enhancement Package sponsored by the NCC.?? The 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive a gardening voucher and gardening hamper respectively.

Rules, regulations and official entry forms can be obtained from the UDC’s office, Bridge Street, Bridgetown or from the Media Downloads section of the Barbados Government Information Service’s website at www.gisbarbados.gov.bb. Completed forms must be submitted to the UDC’s office before 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 16.

The judging of entries will take place by the end of November.
