The United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, arrived in Barbados late last night for two-days of intense discussions, and to participate in the 36th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Mr. Ban was met on the tarmac of the Grantley Adams International Airport by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean; Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Tony Marshall; Resident Representative of UNDP, Stephen O’Malley; and several other officials.

Also arriving on the island last night for the three-day CARICOM meeting were Prime Minister of Jamaica, Portia Simpson-Miller, and Prime Minister of Aruba, Mike Eman.
