Archaeologists, architects and persons with an interest in conservation and restoration, are invited to apply for the 18th International Course in Stone Conservation to be held in Rome, Italy, from April 10 to June 28, next year.

The aim is to improve the practice of stone conservation internationally by providing participants with a holistic understanding of the deterioration of stone and ensuring the practical knowledge of appropriate repair methods and long-term management strategies for stone buildings, structures and objects.

Application forms are available at http://www.iccrom.org/ and should reach the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) by Friday, August 24.?? Candidates should be mid-career professionals or decision-makers in conservation, with at least five years practical working experience in the field.????

The course will be conducted in English and is being facilitated by the ICCROM, an inter-governmental organisation created by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote the conservation of monuments and sites of historical, artistic and archaeological interest.
