Twenty fellowships, each of four weeks duration, and tenable in Moscow are on offer to Barbadians and others resident on the island.

The fellowship programme is being provided by the United Nations Education and Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) through the International Centre for Sustainable Energy Development (ISEDC) in Moscow. It is aimed at enhancing the capacity-building and human resources development in the area of sustainable and renewable energy sources in developing countries.

Only candidates proficient in Russian will be considered for the award since the training to be conducted is tenable in specialised institutions in the Russian Federation and the language of instruction will be Russian. The areas of studies will include energy and sustainable development; ecological management of energy resources; renewable energy; and sustainable and renewable energy power generation.
