Sugar cane farmers are being advised that the staff of the Entomology Section of the Ministry of Agriculture will be conducting an assessment of the biological control programme for the moth borer, the main pest of sugarcane in Barbados.

To this end, fields of young sugar cane plants are being sampled throughout the island and farmers are being urged to provide information, including the field and crop names and cane variety to the relevant personnel.
