Suitably qualified Barbadians who are interested in an international civil service career are invited to submit applications to the United Nation???s Young Professionals Programme Examination.

The examination, slated for December 4, will be in the following disciplines: Economic Affairs, Human Rights, Information Systems and Technology, Photography, Political Affairs, and Radio Producers in Arabic, Chinese, Kiswahili, Russian or Spanish.

The application periods will run from June 14 to August 27, and will be staggered as follows: June 14 to August 13, Information Systems and Technology and Political Affairs; June 21 to August 20, Economic Affairs and Radio Producers; and June 28 to August 27, Human Rights and Photography.

Candidates must submit only one application in the discipline of their choice, and incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.??Information and guidance on the application process can be found on the United Nation???s Career Portal at http://careers.un.org.

The written examination consists of a General Paper, which is the same for all related job areas, and tests drafting abilities and/or knowledge of international affairs.??It also includes a Specialised Paper which tests substantive knowledge corresponding to the related jobs in which the examination is being taken, as well as analytical thinking.
