Over the next few weeks there will be several community focused events taking place across the island.

On Saturday, September 5, at 6:00 p.m. all are invited to come out to the Community Independence Celebrations Official Launch for 2015.

Taking place at the Speightstown Esplanade, the launch, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, August 29, will now be held this Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

Additionally, the St. Peter Independence Committee invites persons from that parish to come out to a special culinary event entitled, ???A taste of St. Peter???.

The event aims to expose persons to taste and explore the unique history of the parish; it will start at 10:00 a.m. and run until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26.

???A taste of St. Peter???, is hosted jointly by: the St. Peter Independence Committee; the Barbados Tourism Authority; the Barbados Community College Hospitality Institute and the Farming Community of St. Peter.

Finally, as the parish of St. Andrew celebrates its parish month, members of the public are being invited to attend its ???Crab Night??? at Long Pond Entrance, starting at 7:30 p.m. For more information, please call Tricia Henry at 826-3156.
