Members of the public will get a closer look at the work done by the Urban Development Commission (UDC) to transform communities across urban Barbados, when that entity hosts a week of activities next week.

Under the theme Changing the Face of Urban Barbados 14 Years and Growing, the events will get under way with a church service on Sunday, August 14, at the Abundant Life Assembly, Bank Hall, St. Michael, starting at 8:00 a.m.

The following day, Monday, August 15, Historian, Trevor Marshall will present a lecture on the topic Historic Bridgetown, Past Present and Future, at the L.V. Harcourt Lewis Auditorium, Keith Bourne Complex, Belmont Road, starting at 7:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, August 16, there will be a community awareness day when members of the UDC will present hampers to three elderly clients; while on Wednesday, August 17, the Commission will throw open its doors to the public during its open day from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ??As part of the activitiy, the public will get an opportunity to view the various exhibits on display and get health checks.

The week will culminate with a staff appreciation day on Friday, August 19.
