Mr. Holder was met on arrival at the Grantley Adams International Airport by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean; US Charge D’ Affaires, Christopher Sandrolini; and Barbados’ Chief of Protocol, Hughland Allman.

Later in the day he held talks with Barbados’ Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite. Tomorrow, he is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Freundel Stuart at his official residence, Ilaro Court, and he will also hold separate discussions with Barbados and Attorneys General from the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States.

The US Attorney General last paid an official visit to Barbados in May 2009, when he held bilateral discussions with late Prime Minister, David Thompson. He also met with Attorneys General of CARICOM at a special caucus at the Hilton Barbados.

The Tamarind Hall Municipal Complex at Horse Hill, St. Joseph, was officially re-named in his honour during that visit.
