Attorney General, The Hon. Freundel Stuart??

Attorney General of the United States of America, The Hon. Eric Holder, Jr. will pay an official visit to Barbados from this Thursday, May 21.

During the three-day stay, Attorneys General of CARICOM will have an opportunity to hold talks with Mr. Holder at a Caucus at the Barbados Hilton. He will also participate in a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister, The Hon. David Thompson; Attorney General, The Hon. Freundel Stuart; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator The Hon. Maxine McClean; and Minister of Housing and Lands, The Hon. Michael Lashley.

The US Attorney General is also scheduled to deliver remarks at the official opening of The Tamarind Hall Municipal Complex at Horse Hill, St. Joseph.

His official activities will end with a reception on Saturday, May 23.

Eric H. Holder, Jr. was born in the The Bronx, New York, to parents with roots in Barbados. His father, Eric Himpton Holder, Sr. was born in the parish of St. Joseph and arrived in the United States at age 11. His mother, Miriam, was born in New Jersey, while his maternal grandparents were immigrants from St. Philip.

He served as Deputy Attorney General in the Clinton Administration between 1997 and 2001.

Mr. Holder is married to Dr. Sharon Malone, an obstetrician, and they are the parents of three children.
