It will be a packed agenda for the Ministry of Health’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Programme come “Love Safely” Week.

The week, which runs from Sunday, February 8 until Saturday, February 14, will see Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) occurring at various venues to mark Valentine’s Day, February 14.

On Monday, February 9 and Tuesday, February 10, the Ministry’s mobile unit will make random stops throughout the island; the following day, Wednesday, February 11, the team from the Health Ministry will visit students and staff at the Barbados Community College who will have the opportunity to be counselled and tested from 9:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

VCT activities will continue on Thursday, February 12, and Friday, February 13, when the mobile unit will visit a number of districts. 

The following day, Saturday, February 14, Valentine’s Day, VCT will be conducted at Heroes’ Square, Bridgetown from 9:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Counselors and providers of VCT will be working in collaboration with Comfort Assist Reach-out and Educate (CARE) and United Gays and Lesbians against AIDS, Barbados.

Members of the public who have not yet been tested are encouraged to look out for the mobile bus as it makes its rounds or visit Heroes’ Square on Valentine’s Day.
