The Ministry of Health will continue its fogging programme this Saturday, October 16, to rid schools across the island of the aedes aegypti mosquito that causes dengue fever. ??

The Vector Control Unit will undertake fogging from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. Schools to be fogged in St. Michael include: Belleville Grammar School in Flint Hall and Luther Thorne Primary, Wildey, St. Michael.

Foundation School, Church Hill; St. Lawrence Primary, St. Lawrence and the Arthur Smith Primary School, St. Matthias, in Christ Church will also be fogged.

In St. Peter, Roland Edwards Primary, Little Battaleys; Leacocks Private, Farm Road; All Saints Primary, Pleasant Hall; and, Boscobelle Primary, Gays, Boscobelle, are scheduled to be sprayed.

The Ministry’s team will also visit Half Moon Fort Primary in Clinketts Gardens in St. Lucy on that day.

Persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog, while pedestrians and motorists are encouraged to proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street.

Parents are also advised to prohibit children from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine. lbayley@barbados.gov.bb
