The relocation of vendors in the City continues next week with those operating north of the Parliament Buildings scheduled to move to new facilities at Marhill Street.

An official from the Markets Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries, Industry and Small Business Development revealed that a meeting with the vendors will take place on location, Sunday, February 13, at 3.00 p.m. to discuss the operational procedures and the signing of contracts.

The relocation will commence on the following day Monday, February 14. A date for the official opening of the Marhill Street facility will be given later.

This decision to relocate was taken following the completion of work on the Marhill Street facility which was closed for about two years.??

He added that the move would allow the Ministry of Public Works to carry out upgrade work at Palmetto Square and re-mark Marhill Street for additional vehicle parking.

This move follows the relocation of vendors from Cavans Lane to new facilities at Independence Square at the end of last month.??
