Barbadians may now view video clips from the first business meeting of the National Youth Forum (NYF) on-line at http://www.nationalyouthforum.org/.
The meeting was held last Saturday, July 17, at Lecture Theatre Three of the University of the West Indies.
After the formal opening ceremony, the young people were organised into focus groups, where they discussed nine topics, including education, the family, cultural penetration, gangs, housing solutions, political participation and environmental protection.
The NYF will be a permanent institution which will convene in various parts of the island to discuss issues that affect the youth and recommendations will be made to Government regarding the policies required to empower the nation’s young people. saustin@barbados.gov.bb
