A group of students from the Caribbean Students Association (CSA) at Columbia University, USA are currently on the island to learn more about our education system and to conduct a service project at a primary school in The City.

The visit is being facilitated by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation and??the group will spend the entire week (March 18-21) at the St. Mary’s Primary School, Mason Hall Street, conducting workshops with students.

These sessions begin each day at 9.30 a.m. and will last for two hours.??

The tour forms part of the CSA’s There Is Hope Campaign which is expected to help the local students improve their self esteem, become aware of the importance of their environment, among others, and it should see CSA providing educational resources to the school. ??

On Friday, March 22, the CSA group will conduct a field trip to the University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus where they will explore a number of topics as they interact with students from Cave Hill as well the St. Mary’s Primary School.

These topics include: Identity – Who Am I? Environmental Sustainability and ??Preparing for Success.
