The Geriatric Hospital. (FP)

The Ministry of Health and Wellness has advised that the suspension of visits to state-run geriatric facilities and the Psychiatric Hospital has been lifted but numbers are restricted.

In accordance with the latest directive, effective today, June 29, one visitor per patient is allowed at the Geriatric Hospital and other district hospitals, while the same will apply at the Psychiatric Hospital from Wednesday, July 1.

Meanwhile, visitor restrictions at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital remain in place for the time being. No visitors are allowed except for the following categories:

  • Patients receiving palliative care and end-of-life care
  • Pregnant patients who are in active labour
  • Very ill patients who will be identified by the Department of Nursing Services
  • Paediatric patients

In the case of these exceptions, visitation is limited to one visitor per patient. In respect of paediatric patients, a parent or guardian is allowed to stay with the patient around-the-clock.
