The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) is accepting applications for the post of Associate Legal Officer (P-2).

This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Foreign Trade.

The ideal candidate for this position should have an advanced university degree in law, with a specialisation in international law, and two years of relevant international work experience.?? That person should have excellent knowledge of English or French, and working knowledge of the other language.?? He or she should also be computer literate.?? Furthermore, specialisations in the Law of the Sea and international adjudication are desirable.

The successful candidate will have to provide advice and assistance on judicial and administrative questions relating to the work of the Tribunal, including publications, workshops and training programmes, in addition to a number of other roles.

Initially, the contract will be for a period of two years, and comes with an attractive tax-free salary with United Nations benefits and allowances.??
