Government is again offering job opportunities for Barbadians abroad.

The National Employment Bureau (NEB) of the Ministry of Labour is inviting persons to apply for 15 vacant positions as experienced "Tower Riggers" in Canada.

Applicants should have a valid driver’s licence and a minimum of two years experience in tower rigging and telecommunication tower maintenance; and three and a half or 4G cellular antenna/equipment installation.

They should also have knowledge of the use of fibre optic equipment and jumpers; have climbing/rescue certification, be able to climb heights of 350 feet; and have an understanding of in-line dynometers and OTDR testing equipment.

Duties include, but are not limited to assistance in the erection/removal of telecommunication poles, towers and associated support structures and the removal, installation and repair of aerial telecommunication transmission, distribution antenna equipment and associated hardware. Individuals will also be expected to be proficient in the removal, installation and repair of various types/sizes of telecommunication cables and lines, including fibre optic, coaxial and DC power.

In addition, candidates will have to travel to remote locations for periods up to six weeks, and reside in a camp.

To register, persons should apply to the NEB, 2nd Floor, National Insurance Building, Fairchild Street, Bridgetown, as soon as possible.

Applicants are required to produce a valid Barbados passport; four passport-sized photographs; a clean Police Certificate of Character; a typed, detailed r??sum?? (with certified certificates/diplomas), and two typed job references.
